Quang Ninh is a phenomenal attraction of Vietnam with world-class landscapes granted as the World Heritage Site by UNESCO. There are two main filming locations that Kong production team chose to film: Ha Long Bay and Cat Ba Island.
Ha Long Bay, located in the Gulf of Tonkin, within Quang Ninh Province is an area of more than 1600 islands and islets with the natural formation of seascape of limestone pillars. Ha Long Bay owns outstanding scenery of variety of drowned limestone karst landforms includes arches and caves. Ha Long Bay is the background of the scene that helicopters hovers above the air carrying troops to explore the hidden island of Kong.
Another captivating filming location of Quang Ninh is Cong La Area situated about 30 km from Tuan Chau Island and borders Cat Ba Island of Hai Phong. Cong La also has a spectacularly pristine beauty of nature of untouched islands and hidden lakes that could only be approach at low tide.
The filming period is perfect with Quang Ninh’s best weather in the year. During March, the sky is crystal clear, matched the pure blue water together create a scene that could be suitable with any of movies’ scenes from romantic to adventurous.
